It was a super impromptu decision to go on a getaway to Boracay (Our initial plan was to go to Phuket). J bought the tickets on Saturday night and we fly on the Sunday noon.

Indeed, Boracay is beautiful, so beautiful as compared to Phuket with blue sky, crystal clear seawater and that white and silky sands. I want to stay there forever.

In the day

During the Sunset

Basically our days at there were eating, sleeping and playing. I really love my first hotel, Luxeview. The hotel was officially open on 1st September, so we were their second customer!

Luxeview
The hotel is very near to the heartland, about 10 - 15 minutes walk; this is really a plus point because I don't want to stay so far. The room is really big. I shouldn't even call it a room; it is more of an apartment. The staffs were friendly; they greeted us whenever they see us. Delicious breakfast was provided in our room every morning!

Our bed facing the Sea!

Traditional Philippines Breakfast
Garlic rice, longganisa (Philippines's style sweet sausage), fried egg

Though there was no wifi in the room for now, they are going to install it soon! J booked a standard room and it is already so big. Just imagine how big and wonderful a Premier and Deluxe room will look like! We wanted to stay for 2 nights but we couldn't bear to leave so we book another night there. On the fourth day, we changed to Hotel Soffia which we regretted after a while.

Hotel Soffia
The hotel is about 2 km away from the heartland. At least they provided free shuttle bus to heartland back and fro hourly. I dislike the fact that the hotel is so high up on the steep hill because I have to climb up and down. There is no wifi in the room so it is inconvenient to stay connected. Breakfast was provided in their restaurant. Their breakfast was really nice, and I love their traditional Phillippines breakfast and their western breakfast!

There are numerous of interesting water as well as on land activities you can do in Boracay. You have to approach the uncles or aunties on White beach and they will give you a price for the activities. Remember to haggle the price with them (Tips: At least half the price they give).

Go Kart up to Ocean Tower
Through the view at Ocean Tower was beautiful, but it was not worth our money to try Go Kart. Furthermore, we managed to drive at most 20 minutes and we are not allowed to drive around freely.

My first time driving a Kart

Views from Ocean Tower

The package offered was tempting, however in actual fact they brought us to a desert amusement park and there is only one free games we can play; we have to pay to play others.

All ready on the Kart

Helmet diving
We went Helmet diving on the third day morning. It is very easy to people like us who do not know how to dive. We wore a helmet and dive down to a 3m deep of seawater. It was fun, especially when we get to feed and look at the fishes at a super close distance.

Say hi to J in Helmet

Feeding the fishes with bread

Island hopping
PESO 1800 for 4 hours. We went around the islands to snorkeling. Snorkeling is so much stunning in Boracay. More variety of fishes and coral reef. We even see the water snake. *gasps* Too bad we have no camera to take photos. We landed on Cystal Cove to explore their coves and swam. Indeed, the island is very beautiful.

The Crocodile Island

Zorb ball
We succeed to get PESO 500 for a water ride for 2. We get one ride down the hill in an inflatable ball. It is too expensive for just one ride but it was fun. We enjoyed it and felt it was good to do once. But we did not take another ride for that price.

Thinking of food, I miss their garlic rice. Please bring me back there.

D'Talipapa Market & Cook Restaurant
Wake up early in the morning just to grab fresh seafoods from D'Talipapa for breakfast should be the best way to start your day in Boracay. As long as you know how to haggle price and are persistent, you can get a good price for the seafood at the market. After buying the seafood, there are many restaurants that help to cook the seafood in the ways you want it to be. The cooking is about 150 PESO/kg (SGD4.50) on average. Also, this is the place where you can purchase different souvenirs and the price are cheap as compared as to other places. The whole meal costed about 1320 PESO (SGD40) for two.

Grilled Squid

CYMA
They are specialized in Greek food and it is our favorite restaurant in Boracay, but we only managed to find it on the fourth day. ): It is located in a small street near to D'mall. We had two meals there (this shows how nice the dishes are.)

Solomos Angel Hair
Sautéed salmon with tomato, basil cream sauce, fresh lime juice, feta and romano cheese

Cyma Roasted Crabs!
roasted mangrove crabs with tons of garlic, black pepper and EVOO. served with garlic pasta and a spritz of lemon

Pastisado
Beef shank braised in Greek tomato sauce, served over spaghetti

We ordered solo, so we can try more dishes! This restuarant is definitely a must to go and try.

MAMA Restaurant
The owner, Marcus is Austrian and he is very friendly. He interacted with us while the food arrive and told us his stories, and more about Boracay. He was very generous and offered us multiple shots and beers on the house! We ended up drinking the night away and having a great time.

The owner, Marcus

I ordered their best selling sausage and J ordered their Shepherd Pie. I have no photo for the Shepherd Pie because we were busy eating and forget to snap photo. ): Not forgetting to mention, this Mama Restaurant is Number 1 restaurant rated on Trip Advisor in Boracay, how can give it a miss?!

Different currency on the wall. *drool*

J reading the menu on the wall

SMOKE Restaurant
We wanted to try Filipino food from Smoke restaurant but it seemed to be a bad idea for us. J totally does not find the foods to his liking.

J ordered this (not nice)

Curry chicken with Rice

Grilled Calamari

Yay! This comes to the end of this long and interesting (maybe) travelogue of Boracay! We are planning to go back soon! :D I will convince myself to blog soon!

CONCLUSION: IT IS TOTALLY WORTH YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY TO FLY FOR 3 HOURS 30 MINUTES, ON ROAD FOR 1 HOUR HALF AND ON SEA FOR 10 MINUTES TO BORACAY!
