The main purpose of COE is to control the traffic flow in Singapore. What is the point of driving if everywhere is jam? Can someone enlightening me?
He talked about CPF too. Again, why is everyone complaining about CPF? Government is like our parents, helping us to save for the future and making sure you won't splurge. I don't really get the point of having the lump sum (what you want to do with it? To hug it to sleep or make it into a bed?) Yes, they used our money to make more money but the money they earned are coming back to us. Where do you think does the money come from that subsidies our education, medical and retirement?
Army: Do I need to repeat myself that Singapore is a small country with a small population? We will never having enough men to protect our country. But we have to protect our own country. That why all our men need to serve army. 18 is a prime age to serve, every men are strong and healthy to get trained. I am always proud of Hang when he did well in army because he is doing well in protecting our country, our home. If our home can't be protected what is the point having a bright future?
I see no reason why can't ladies be as good as men. If you are capable why are you afraid your wife will be doing be better than you. Only incapable man would be afraid of that.
Everything has their pros and cons and life would be miserable if you only focus on the cons. Our government is doing a good job now and I cannot deny there is always a room for improvement. Our government want us to be independent. Just put it in this way: PAP is the good parent, they want you to study hard and work hard for our future while they help you along the way. Whereas, opposition parties are bad parents, if you want money I give you more, you don't want to study then don't study, I will give you everything you want but there is always a limit to everything that can be given.
End of the day, everyone loves bad parents and will never see the good in the good parents. What to do? Humans are always looking for easy way out.
